Padded sports bras

What they are

A padded sports bra has a scoop neckline and a racerback, with padding inside the cups for shape and coverage.

Our padded sports bras

Our padded sports bras are made from 82% polyester and 18% spandex at 230 g/m², with four-way stretch, a sports mesh lining, support material in the shoulder straps and a wide elastic under the bust. The padding is removable, with slits in the mesh lining to take it out. They are best for A to C cups, in sizes XS to 2XL, and £55 at the time of writing. The Army 2075 Padded Bra is one example.

Who it suits

Anyone who wants shape and a little extra coverage, and the option to remove the padding.

Longline sports bras

What they are

A longline sports bra extends further down the torso, usually with a band at the bottom. It covers more, which makes it feel more like a crop top.

Our longline sports bras

Our longline sports bras, such as the Cybernetic 2075 Longline Bra, have a double-layered waistband and come in XS to 3XL. They are £65 at the time of writing.

Who it suits

Anyone who wants more coverage, or a sports bra that doubles as a top.

How to find your size

Our sports bra charts use body measurements, not garment measurements. Measure yourself:

  • Chest: around the fullest part of your bust, tape level.
  • Underbust: directly under your bust, tape snug and level.

Then choose the size that matches. For our padded sports bras, for example, XS is 84 cm chest and 70 cm underbust, S is 88 cm and 74 cm, and M is 92 cm and 78 cm. Full charts are on each product page and our size guide.

If you are between sizes, the underbust measurement matters most for support.

Signs your sports bra fits

  • The band sits level all the way round and does not ride up.
  • The straps do not dig in or slip off.
  • You can breathe and move comfortably.
  • There is no gaping at the cups.

How to wear each one beyond the gym

Padded sports bra

Under an open shirt or mesh layer, with high-waisted jeans and a belt, for a club night or festival.

Longline sports bra

On its own with high-waisted straight jeans and a belt on a warm day, or under an open jacket.

Both work beautifully with a printed design. Our VZI Endurance Series uses artwork such as Army 2075, Cybernetic and Crimson Deities, so the bra becomes the statement piece.

Caring for sports bras

  • Wash cold on a gentle cycle, ideally in a laundry bag.
  • Take out removable padding before washing and reshape it while damp.
  • Skip fabric conditioner, which can affect stretch.
  • Air dry rather than tumble drying.

Stay active

The NHS recommends adults aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate activity a week (NHS). A sports bra you love wearing makes that easier.

Made to order

Every Vazzari sports bra is made to order, so nothing is made until it is ordered and there are no unsold piles. Every design is available in every listed size. Returns are free within 30 days.

Choosing by activity

Strength training and gym classes

Either style works. If you like a little shape and coverage, choose padded. If you like a more streamlined look, choose longline.

Yoga and pilates

A longline sports bra stays in place as you bend and stretch, and the extra coverage is comfortable on the mat.

Running and high-impact workouts

Fit matters most. Choose the style that sits most securely on you, and check the band does not move when you jump.

Dancing and festivals

Both work as part of an outfit. A longline bra on its own on a hot day, or a padded bra under an open shirt for a club night.

FAQ

Which is more supportive, longline or padded?

It depends on the cut and fabric. Ours both use four-way stretch fabric; the padded style adds support material in the straps and a wide underbust elastic.

Can I wear a longline sports bra as a top?

Yes. It covers more of the torso and works with high-waisted jeans and an open layer.

Can I remove the padding?

Yes. Our padded sports bras have removable padding with slits in the lining.

What cup sizes do your padded sports bras suit?

They are best for A to C cups.

How do I measure for a sports bra?

Measure your chest at the fullest point and your underbust, then match both to the size chart.
